Having been influenced by the revolutionary techniques of Helen Frankenthaler, Ursula found a kinship with some of her methods and I have adapted these techniques to her style.
Staying true to her own artistic instincts, her technique enables her to carve out a dynamic interplay between the visible and concealed forms within her work; comparable to how we as individuals navigate and seek meaning in our own lives. This visual wondering that becomes her visual language, consists not only of the manipulation of materials, but also the aesthetic intention to create energy. Moments woven together over time, often spanning several months.
Each work of art becomes an ongoing revelation, where layers of paint and color interact and bring about a mysterious presence.
Her paintings are not merely static objects, but possess a potential to captivate and resonate with audiences.

"Why do we have to listen to our hearts?" the boy asked. "Because, wherever your heart is, that is where you will find your treasure."

-Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

The diverse array of techniques that Ursula employs to manipulate various finishes and textures in her paintings, saturate the canvas with a palpable sense of vitality and vigor, whilst accentuating her distinctive visual language.
