Hand-built vessels, sculptural lighting, and paintings created in my Florida garden studio. Each work is shaped slowly by hand and exists as a one-of-a kind piece, exploring stillness, presence, and the quiet relationship between material and light.
Ursula Schwartz is a contemporary artist whose work centers on presence, material intelligence, and restraint. Working across painting and sculptural clay, she creates objects that hold quiet power—forms that invite contemplation rather than demand attention.
Born in South Africa and now based in Florida, Schwartz’s work is shaped by lived experience rather than narrative. Her practice is guided by intuition, proportion, and an acute sensitivity to surface and tone. Color is used deliberately and with restraint, allowing subtle relationships and emotional weight to emerge over time.
Her paintings explore balance, tension, and stillness, while her clay vessels and sculptural forms emphasize tactility, groundedness, and human scale. Each piece is made by hand and resists replication, carrying the imprint of time, touch, and intention.
Schwartz’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across the United States, Europe, and South Africa. She works from her studio in the historic Northwood neighborhood of West Palm Beach, Florida.
