some info on ursula

"Ursula is more Monet than Monet. Monet captured the impression of a scene whereas Ursula goes deeper; she captures the energy of an environment and the impression it leaves us. Her work can be described as "energism" as opposed to "impressionism."

After being immersed in this percolating world of creativity in South Africa, Ursula embarked on a journey of exploration that led her to the United States of America. This coincided with the start of the second chapter of her artistic life. During this time, she became more familiar with well known American artists and was particularly drawn to the art and philosophy of Helen Frankenthaler. Frankenthaler  pioneered her own soaking technique with paint and canvas. This brave act of exploration inspired Ursula to develop her own method of application.

Ursula’s mixing of materials has been described as an ‘innate-nonnatural mixology’. Her exceptional abstract expression style, coupled with a color-field sensibility, offers a mesmerizing experience for the viewer. The captivating power of Ursula's art lies in its ability to draw the observer's eye deep into the canvas, revealing an energy that fosters vitality and pulse from within.

And this is the quiet power of Ursula Schwartz.
